American should play country star

-

NASHVILLE — The grandson of country legend Hank Williams is furious that a Brit will be portraying the tragic star in an upcoming biopic.

Hank Williams III told TMZ that producers should not have cast highly regarded actor Tom Hiddleston — best known for his role as Loki in The Avengers — to play the hellraising country crooner. The family were pushing for Texan Matthew McConaughey because he’s a southerner.

Hank Williams Sr. — best known for hits like Your Cheatin’ Heart and Hey Good Lookin’ — died Jan. 1, 1953 at age 29 after years battling a drug and alcohol problem.
