Rams vs. Huskies at new Mosaic Stadium
Craig Baird lays out what you need to know before heading out to Saturday’s sold-out game between the two rival football teams.
GETTING TO THE GAME
Transit service to the stadium will be free to all riders beginning at 11:45 a.m. Buses to the stadium will depart from Normanview Shopping Centre, Victoria Square Mall, Northgate Mall and Southland Mall. There will be two downtown shuttle stops located at the Delta Hotel (Saskatchewan Drive and Hamilton Street) and Victoria Park (Victoria Avenue and Scarth Street). Buses will start leaving the stadium and begin their normal full service 20 minutes following the end of the game. Residents are also encouraged to carpool, walk or take taxis to the game, if possible.
PARKING
Elphinstone Street will be closed to traffic between Dewdney Avenue and north of Saskatchewan Drive from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Park- ing will be available at the old Mosaic Stadium for $10, operated by the Rams Alumni. All proceeds from the parking fees will go to player scholarships, recruitment and development.
ENTERING AND EXITING THE STADIUM
All tickets will have a bar code that is required for entry into the stadium. Ticket holders should enter the stadium early through gates 2 and 3 on the north side of the stadium. Gates open at noon with kickoff at 2 p.m. There is no assigned seating in the stadium for the test event, and all patrons will watch the game from the lower bowl. During the game, there will be a strict no in-andout policy, so once you are in, you stay in for the game. The stadium is completely smoke-free, but designated smoking areas will be provided for ticket holders who want to smoke tobacco products or vape.
