Women who reported sexual assaults believe drinks spiked
Two women who reported being sexually assaulted said they believe their drinks were tampered with, Saskatoon police say.
“We want to let people know we have reports of this happening,” Saskatoon police spokeswoman Kelsie Fraser said.
The two incidents are not believed to be related, Fraser said. Police are investigating.
One of the women had been at an establishment in the 1300 block of Eighth Street East. The other woman had been at an establishment in the 10 block of 24th Street East. It was not immediately clear if the assaults took place at the establishments or somewhere else, Fraser said.
Fraser stressed the importance of taking simple measures to ensure drinks aren’t tampered with by not leaving drinks unattended, not accepting drinks from strangers and calling police if suspicious behaviour is observed.
