Hot Habs top Lightning for sixth straight win

Captain Max Pacioretty scored in the third period as the Canadiens beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-1 on Thursday night in Montreal to extend their winning streak to six games. Alex Galchenyuk and Torrey Mitchell, into an empty net, also scored for Montreal (7-0-1). Carey Price made 29 saves for his fourth consecutiv­e win to start the season. In Toronto, Mitch Marner dished out three assists and Frederik Andersen bounced back from a horrid showing as the Maple Leafs won their second game this season, topping the Florida Panthers 3-2. Marner set up Tyler Bozak for a pair of goals and also helped James van Riemsdyk find the scoresheet. Andersen stopped 29 of 31 shots for Toronto (2-2-3).
