FAMILY STYLE
Lake Vista is tailored for modern family life
The perfect fit.
It’s the ultimate goal when shopping for fashion. It’s even more important when selecting a new home and neighbourhood for your family.
North Ridge Land Division’s new master-planned community of Lake Vista, in the southeast of Martensville, is designed with today’s modern family in mind.
Located on 160 acres, Lake Vista is visually appealing, home to thoughtful streetscapes, dual man-made lakes and extensive parks, linked by paved pathways.
The community stands out for its feeling of connectivity, says Jessica Bonish, North Ridge Development’s marketing manager. “Lake Vista was designed to be walkable. There aren’t any little cul de sacs that block the flow through the neighbourhood. You can get to the school, the recreation centre, shops and services without having to drive all over. You can walk; you can bike. The access is ideal.”
Jess Rideout, a member of the North Ridge sales team, enjoys sharing her first-hand experiences of life in Lake Vista. “Moving out here to Lake Vista was a big decision. We looked at lots in the city; we looked at other bedroom communities. Lake Vista hit most of what we were looking for: safety, family orientation, closeness to amenities, closeness to elementary and high schools, as well as a slower pace of life,” says Rideout.
“We have two dogs, so we enjoy being close to the parks and the walking paths. This is a place where we can raise kids and also retire. We’re planning for the future.”
There’s a small-town vibe developing within Lake Vista that Rideout compares to “what old Saskatoon used to be like.”
She adds, “Lake Vista has a noticeably slower pace of life. People stop and talk to each other. You know your neighbours. In winter, we have hockey tournaments on the lake. In summer, we have block parties. People walk their dogs together. You can go biking for ice cream or groceries, then bike home through the park without worrying about traffic.”
Not only has North Ridge designed Lake Vista as a familyfriendly neighbourhood, the builder offers a diverse selection of appealing new home designs, from single family residences to the new Birchmont Townhomes development.
One great example is the new North Ridge show home located at 105 Cowan Crescent. Dubbed “The Greenbay”, this 1,688 square foot two-storey is an enticing family home, incorporating all of the stylish amenities today’s modern families are seeking, at an affordable price point of $395,900.
The welcoming home features an open concept floor plan, ninefoot ceiling on the main floor, a spacious designer kitchen and a combination main floor laundry/ mudroom with direct access to the attached double garage.
The luxury amenities continue on the second floor, where an inviting bonus space awaits, a perfect family retreat for watching TV or playing games. “I think the upstairs is the best part of this house,” says Rideout. “With this floor plan, the bonus space can be modified to be a fourth bedroom, so it’s ideal for growing families. If you have three kids, they can each have their own bedroom.”
The master bedroom is particularly bright and spacious, featuring a delightful ensuite bath and a spacious walk-in closet with custom shelving.
The Greenbay also stands out for its tasteful, contemporary style. “We kept the décor fresh and bright, with pops of colour against a modern neutral palette of grey and white,” says Bonish.
The attractive kitchen is dressed in crisp white Shakerstyle cabinets, with a generously-sized island and built-in eating bar.
The rustic whitewash wide plank laminate floor complements the home’s décor perfectly. “Best of all, it’s designed to stand up to heavy family use,” says Rideout.
Other stylish flooring choices in the home include the use of eye-catching baroque luxury vinyl tile in the main floor powder room and the two bathrooms on the second floor.
The show home’s location, just down the street from the Lake Vista joint use school, is another factor which is sure to appeal to young families. “The school is on track to open in the Fall of 2017,” says Bonish.
A tour of The Greenbay show home will also open eyes to the outstanding workmanship and superior construction techniques that go into every North Ridge home.
The builder backs every build with a comprehensive quality assurance inspection protocol which includes detailed inspections at ten different stages during the construction process. In addition to coverage by the New Home Warranty Program of Saskatchewan, North Ridge also offers its own comprehensive Customer Care warranty program.
“We are very pro-active. We contact our homeowners three different times during their first year of possession to ensure there are no warranty concerns,” says Bonish. “It’s one more area where North Ridge excels and one of the reasons why North Ridge was named Builder of the Year for a second consecutive year at the recent Bridges Awards.”
The North Ridge Greenbay show home, at 105 Cowan Crescent in Lake Vista, is open for viewing Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 1 to 5 p.m.; Mondays to Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m. For more details, visit www.northridge.sk.ca.
