Kittens allegedly burned, thrown

-

PRINCE ALBERT The SPCA in Prince Albert is investigating allegations of animal cruelty involving kittens.

Operations manager Liana Maloney said people watching a sporting event in a park last Saturday witnessed a group of children aged six to 12 throwing the kittens to each other, and to the ground.

The witnesses intervened and persuaded the children to give up the animals. The kittens were rushed to the SPCA for treatment, but the kids indicated there were more kittens.

Seven kittens were found in all, two of them having been “lit on fire.” An eighth kitten and their mother were never found.

Animal protection officers are asking anyone with information to contact them at 306-763-6110.
