LIVABLE LUXURY AWAITS
STARS prize home stylish stunner
The STARS Home Lottery opened earlier this month and it’s already 50 per cent sold. The $1.5 million grand prize show home, built by D&S Homes Ltd., is located in Greenbryre Estates, at 304 Greenbryre Crescent North. The home is almost 3,400 square feet in a twostory walkout design.
Interior design and furnishing was provided by Garden Architecture and Design. Their influence is noted throughout, with a livable, yet stylish family home.
“D&S have a great balance of very stylish homes and very high end homes, and yet practical for families and that sort of thing,” says Mark Oddan, communications lead for STARS Saskatchewan. “The decorating was done by Garden Architecture and again it’s not too intrusive, you can still make it your own.”
The open concept living room, dining room and kitchen area is punctuated by a beautiful custom fireplace.
The fireplace is surrounded by a metallic-looking quartz-like product called Dekton by Cosentino Canada.
The kitchen is a modern wonder, complete with wine fridge and oversized quartz-topped island with waterfall edge. The cabinets are sleek looking, with modern hardware. The square range hood adds two copper bands for a unique twist.
In the lower level walkout, homeowners will enjoy another custom fireplace with a tile surround that echoes the range hood upstairs, with a copper band offering a bit of visual warm to an inviting space. A wet bar makes the space handy for entertaining as well.
The four-bedroom, three-anda-half-bath home also offers an office off the front entrance, walkthrough pantry, and a bonus room upstairs.
The master bedroom is a spacious retreat for the homeowner paired with a pampering ensuite with custom tiled shower, soaker tub and built-in makeup table.
Half of the funding for STARS comes from the provincial government, the other half is provided by corporate and personal donations. The largest fundraiser each year is the home lottery, which raises approximately $2 million. Other prizes include vehicles, vacations and cash.
The funds raised go toward keeping this life-saving operation flying. With locations in Saskatoon and Regina, STARS provides emergency care and transportation to medical facilities for critically ill and injured patients.
More than 4,000 missions have been carried out since the nonprofit was established in 2012.
This is the sixth year D&S Homes has built the grand prize show homes for STARS. Derek Slater with D&S says their partnership with such a critical service is important to them. “We love supporting STARS. It’s a great organization,” says Slater. “We have a great working relationship with them.”
Tickets can be purchased at the show home for $60 each, two for $100, six for $250 and 12 for $375. Lucky STARS 50/50 tickets are also available.
The grand prize show home, at 304 Greenbryre Crescent North, is open for viewing Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; and weekends and holidays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. For more information or to purchase tickets online visit www.starslotterysaskatchewan.ca.
