Wall government cuts misguided

-

John Kenneth Galbraith, a renowned economist, has described a humane and caring society as one that provides for its most vulnerable folk; the voiceless, homeless, poverty-stricken and disabled.

The Wall government has proven itself to look after and cater to its most wealthy citizens. In cutting the income tax of the most wealthy citizens to 4.5 per cent from five per cent, the corporate income tax by 0.5 per cent and paying billions in subsidies to the oil industry it has created its own deficit.

Wall’s government can afford to cut taxes for the wealthy but not maintain programs for the vulnerable.

The Wall government can’t afford:

1. The proven and much needed Sask. Hearing Aid Plan that has served thousands of Saskatchewan hearing impaired children and seniors for 70 years nor the much needed audiologists that served the plan;

2. To continue the one service that gave these people access to hearing aid health via the Saskatchewan Transportation Company;

3. To fund many programs that serve the disabled, the homeless, the drug plans for seniors and children;

4. To fund the education of our most precious resource, our children, but can subsidize the oil resource industry in the billions and;

5. NORTEP, the teaching of northern Aboriginal students to teach in the north; a program that has proven most successful.

This government can’t afford to ignore talents and expertise of the many Saskatchewan people who developed these much needed ‘programs for people’ through the years gone by.

This government was elected to serve all Saskatchewan residents and not just the wealthy and Sask. Party supporters.
