NOW HEAR THIS: RETAILER HAS LOCK ON HIGH-END GEAR

James Frost secures exclusive rights to Bang & Olufsen goods, writes John Grainger.

Are you looking for a life-changing moment?

It’s quite likely James Frost will be able to provide that for you through an auditory and sensory experience you won’t soon forget.

Frost opened his doors to his James Frost Luxury Outfitters store in trendy Riversdale a month ago where he is the sole distributor of Bang & Olufsen products in the province. In fact, Frost is the only distributor for Bang & Olufsen on the Prairies. Outside of Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal, Saskatoon is the only place where Bang & Olufsen products are sold.

“It was a long process, about two-and-a-half years, to get Bang & Olufsen on board,” says Frost. “Saskatoon wasn’t even on their list of where they wanted to go.”

Regarded as probably the finest in auditory equipment, Bang & Olufsen products elevate listening to music to a new level. Frost sells everything from headphones, Bluetooth wireless speakers to state-of-the-art televisions made by Bang & Olufsen.

When you stop by James Frost Luxury outfitters, make sure you take a minute or two to sit in the Experience Room. There are two large, uniquely shaped tower speakers that weigh about 300 pounds apiece and kick out 8,200 watts of sounds. That is correct. Re-read that if you must. If this doesn’t sell you on Bang & Olufsen, nothing will. It’s beyond comprehension.

But Bang & Olufsen is not the only premium brand available at James Frost Luxury Outfitters.

For photography enthusiasts, the store sells Leica products. Leica is a pioneer in lenses after a century of providing the best in photography needs.

For outdoor cooking enthusiasts, the store sells Big Green Egg products. That includes the grills as well as the related items such as cooking tools and cookware.

Maybe you could use Bang & Olufsen speaker on your deck when you’re using a Big Green Egg cooker.

Myrna Zarubiak is devoted to her dog and best buddy, Newman, a 12-year-old Bichon FriseLhaso Apso.

Zarubiak has taken her commitment to dogs to a whole new level with the opening of NewMe Doggie Daycare, located in Sutherland.

“I’ve had a love and passion for dogs my entire life,” says Zarubiak.

“I used to take Newman to a daycare and it really hit home with me. I knew this was something I needed to do.”

Since opening her doggie daycare doors at the end of September, Zarubiak really wants to make sure that people who are considering using a doggie daycare service know that she considers her clients’ pets as her own.

This is not just a business for her.

Zarubiak says she knows people have enough stress in their lives and they don’t need to be worrying about their furry four-legged friend all day long.

“There’s no need to have anxiety when they drop off their dog with me. There’s not a day that goes by where I don’t fall in love with another dog.”

Zarubiak and Newman, the de facto ambassador for the business, are more than happy to show off their site for potential customers. S

he encourages people to stop by to visit her and take a look around the clean and uncluttered business. There is even a fencedin area at the rear of the business where pets can go outside for fresh air.

“I want people to feel completely comfortable when they leave their dog with me.”

Zarubiak has a large area in the more than 2,000-square-foot building for dogs to play and frolic with other dogs.

Down the road, Zarubiak says she might look at opening a retail area with dog food, toys and other pet items.

But for now, Zarubiak is all about dogs — and finding more friends for Newman.
