No charges to be laid in dog attack that killed boy

-

REGINA Charges will not be laid after a six-year-old boy was killed in a dog attack in Riceton, the RCMP announced Wednesday.

Cameron Mushanski was killed by a dog, or dogs, at his grandparents’ home in September.

Following an investigation, the RCMP determined there were no elements of any criminal, provincial or bylaw offence committed.

Mushanski was pronounced dead at the scene and two large breed dogs, Alaskan Malamutes kept in a penned area in the family’s yard, were turned over to the Regina Humane Society before being euthanized.

Milestone RCMP assisted the coroner’s office as this sudden death is considered a Coroner’s Act file. During this investigation the Milestone RCMP consulted with the RCMP Major Crime Unit, the Regina Humane Society and the Office of the Chief Coroner. Postmedia News
