Award-winning authors to read at book awards fundraiser

The Saskatchewan Book Awards will hold its second annual Brunchraiser on Sunday, Nov. 19 at Bliss Fine Food on Broadway Avenue. Award-winning authors Arthur Slade and Dwayne Brenna will be there. Brenna will read from New Albion, the recent winner of the Muslims for Peace and Justice Fiction Award at the 24th Saskatchewan Book Awards.

Slade will read from Flickers, which was shortlisted this year for the Young Adult Literature Award at the Saskatchewan Book Awards. There will be two seatings for the event — 10 a.m. and noon.

Both authors will read at each seating.

Tickets are available through the Saskatchewan Book Awards website (bookawards.sk.ca) for $30.

The event will also feature a silent auction with items donated from local businesses.
