Remembrance Day is the main attraction this weekend. Take a moment to appreciate the freedoms we enjoy.
1 Sask Tel Centre ceremony
Our first recommendation today is the annual Remembrance Day ceremony at Sask Tel Centre. It truly is the crown jewel of such events outside of Ottawa. If you haven’t been to it yet, go. It will move you. Just remember to get there early.
2 Crist kindle Market
With Christmas creeping up on us, if you’re needing a little inspiration, head to the German Cultural Centre for the Crist kindle Market on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You’ll find more than 40 vendors hawking their homemade crafts and cooking. The cultural centre is on the corner of Cartwright Road and Lorne Avenue.
3 Brass band music
The Dirty Catfish Brass Band plays at the Bassment on Sunday evening at 7:30. Be prepared for some lively New Orleans-influenced musicians who know how to push the tempo.
4 Catch a show
If you’re thinking live theatre is a good idea, Little Women: The Broadway Musical plays tonight and Saturday night at the Broadway Theatre. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
5 Live sports
Maybe watching live sports is your idea of a good evening. Look no further than the U of S. Both Huskies basketball teams and hockey teams are at home this weekend. Get out there and cheer on the Dogs.
