Shoot­ing vic­tim dies in hos­pi­tal

A 30-year-old man who was shot in the ab­domen ear­lier this month died in hos­pi­tal on Satur­day, Saska­toon po­lice said on Tues­day.

The man was shot on the morn­ing of Nov. 4 at a home in the 200 block of Av­enue V South.

Po­lice said an au­topsy was per­formed on Tues­day and the man’s death is con­sid­ered a homicide. His name was not re­leased.

In a pre­vi­ous news re­lease, po­lice said of­fi­cers re­spond­ing to a 911 call found a man who had “sus­tained a small cal­i­bre gun­shot wound to his ab­domen.”

He was taken to a hos­pi­tal in sta­ble con­di­tion. Po­lice said they be­lieved the vic­tim knew the sus­pect, but a sus­pect had not been iden­ti­fied. The city po­lice tar­geted en­force­ment unit was in­ves­ti­gat­ing.

Po­lice are ask­ing any­one with in­for­ma­tion about the shoot­ing to con­tact them or Crime Stop­pers.
