Shooting victim dies in hospital

-

A 30-year-old man who was shot in the abdomen earlier this month died in hospital on Saturday, Saskatoon police said on Tuesday.

The man was shot on the morning of Nov. 4 at a home in the 200 block of Avenue V South.

Police said an autopsy was performed on Tuesday and the man’s death is considered a homicide. His name was not released.

In a previous news release, police said officers responding to a 911 call found a man who had “sustained a small calibre gunshot wound to his abdomen.”

He was taken to a hospital in stable condition. Police said they believed the victim knew the suspect, but a suspect had not been identified. The city police targeted enforcement unit was investigating.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
