WELLNESS FOR BODY AND SOUL

Massage and aromatherapy businesses offer soothing relief,

- John Grainger writes.

Kimberley Sattelmeier has turned it up a notch for people interested in more than just a standard massage treatment.

Trained and accredited as a registered massage therapist, Sattelmeier offers those standard massages you might expect. But she also offers treatments designed to make a person feel better in different ways, from a hot stone massage, to vacuum cupping, raindrop therapy and an array other treatments.

“I’m passionate about health and want to share the benefits with other people,” says Sattelmeier, who set up her business in Salon Hush at the beginning of September and is proud to work alongside others in the business.

“Our motto here is ‘Get pampered head to toe.’ It’s true. We want people here thinking that when they leave.”

Sattelmeier says her work is not unlike a detective looking for clues for wellness. She says people will provide information about their health and she will use her education to pinpoint what needs to be worked on.

Having clients leave her treatment room in better shape than when they arrived is her aim.

“People are usually happy after they see me. It’s all about feeling better and understanding why.”

Sattelmeier says it’s important for her to pass along information to clients about why they have been feeling in need of treatment and how to improve their overall well-being.

One of the unique treatments she offers is Cyriax massage therapy. It’s a pain-free, noninvasive treatment that removes scar tissue and treats lesions of ligaments, tendons and muscles.

Sattelmeier makes it easy for people to set up appointments through her online and intuitive booking system.

Did you know there are 257 separate points on your face alone?

Her journey has been long, but Marlese Assman is sure the things she has seen and learned are experiences she can pass along to clients.

After studying abroad and in Canada, Assman has brought her intense training in aromatherapy home to Saskatoon where she has opened a studio in the century-old Drinkle building in downtown Saskatoon.

In fact, Assman is the only Saskatchewan-based aromatherapist certified in Dien Chan Multi Reflexology and Chan’beaute. She received her training from experts based in Barcelona, Spain.

For Assman, this is where her passion and business are intertwined. It’s important for her to get to know each client so she can tailor-make a proper plan.

“We’ll have a better connection and that increases the experience for the client,” she says. “It’s my goal in finding a solution and getting to the root of the issue.”

Assman specializes in luxury treatments to help restore and revitalize her clients’ bodies.

“Every service I offer is totally unique and personalized,” says Assman, who opened Oct 1. “I’m open to exploring new things. And to me, it just makes sense. It’s all about creating balance.”

She is open with her clients about her treatments and wants her clients to be comfortable with what each personalized treatment will provide. She wants them to feel comfortable asking her questions.

Assman says it’s important her clients know what to expect before she begins treatment. So make sure to ask about those 257 points. She has the answer.
