Bright design makes a striking statement

- JENNIFER JACOBY-SMITH

Even the exterior of Pawluk Homes’ show home at 310 Boykowich St. has a fresh modern twist with an eye-catching smooth stucco in combination with the stone facade on the garage.

Located in Evergreen, the show home continues with the bright and fresh theme inside.

“As soon as you open the front door you are greeted by the dramatic open to above view, striking glass stair rail feature, contemporary barn door to the den and the clean lines of the enormous backyard windows through the home,” says Pawluk Homes’ Raichelle Robinson.

Each room is framed by large windows flooding the modern layout with tons of natural light — making an already spacious home feel even more roomy and inviting.

The entrance is finished with oversized high gloss tiles, an attractive contrast with the dark matte-finished hardwood flooring. Just off the entrance is an allpurpose office or den.

“The main floor office/den right off the entrance is truly multifunctional; it is perfect for anyone who works from home,” says Robinson.

“We have also seen it used as a beautiful craft room making use of the enormous windows flooding the room with natural light or a playroom for busy young families as it keeps toy clutter at bay and ensures playing young ones are always close to all of the main floor action.”

The main living area features a fireplace surrounded by glossy white tile from floor to ceiling.

The contemporary kitchen has a corner sink with windows, which continues to keep the everything well-lit and luxurious. There’s a large island, plus oversized kitchen pantry and a unique breakfast bar in the island.

The open concept with dining area lends itself to entertaining or lingering and visiting with family. Two-toned cabinetry — brilliant white uppers combined with stonecoloured lower cabinets — with white quartz countertops is right on trend and keeps the space fresh.

With a main floor laundry and mud room with lockers, the 1,867-square-foot, two-storey floor plan will be attractive to many families. A garden door off the dining area leads to a covered deck overlooking the south-facing yard, waiting to host family barbecues or sharing a glass of lemonade on a hot summer day.

Upstairs the owner’s suite is nearly 200 square feet with a walkin closet complete with built-ins and a glamorous pampering ensuite with soaker tub, rain head shower with added hand shower, heated tile flooring, tile shower and double sinks.

Listed at $578,000, it’s a thoughtful design that maximizes function and beauty.

This Pawluk show home at 310 Boykowich Street is open for viewing Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
