HOLIDAY HAIR DIY: THE BRAIDED CROWN

-

The holiday season call for a chic holiday look.

But if you’re looking to stand out among all the classic blowouts and undone waves this holiday season, you may want to consider opting for a chic updo. Rather than choosing a topknot (too casual) or a chignon (too done), get playful with a stylish — and surprisingly simple to create at home — braided crown.

“It’s an easy look to put together and creates an elegant yet casual look which is great for any holiday party,” says Leonardo Redavid, founder of the Vancouver-based hair care brand REDAVID Salon Products.

To achieve the look, which works best on mid-length to long hair, Redavid says simply follow these four steps and you’ll be partyready in no time:

1Start by giving the hair a little shine and slip with a hair oil, such as REDAVID Orchid Oil Treatment. Oils don’t just make your hair easier to braid without tangling, they also really create a finished look with a mirror-like shine.

2Section the hair into two separate pigtails, then, create a braid with each pigtail. Keep the braids slightly loose for a thicker look. Secure each braid with bands.

3Place one braid across the top of the hair and pin in place. Repeat the process for the other side by placing it behind the first braid.

4Give a little spritz of hairspray such as REDAVID Max Hold Hairspray — and you’ll be ready for any event.

?? ?? There are four basic rules to follow if you want to surprise family and friends with a fancy new updo, says Leonardo Redavid, founder of REDAVID Salon Products in Vancouver.
