Josh Roach and Mackenzie Johnston both scored in a 2-0 victory on Saturday to bring Saskatchewan’s winning streak to four games.

Jordon Cooke stopped all 40 shots faced in Saturday’s game to give him his third shutout of the season.

BASKETBALL

A free throw in the final eight seconds by Julia Marshall of the Trinity West University Spartans (12-4), was enough to push her team to a 69-68 victory over the host Huskies (14-2) on Friday night, bringing Saskatchewan’s five-game winning streak to an end. The Huskies got back to their winning ways on Saturday with an 82-64 victory.

Meanwhile, the men’s team improved their winning streak to five games with a pair of victories over the visiting Spartans (1-15). Saskatchewan (7-9) won 97-71 on Friday and followed it up with an 80-71 win on Saturday.
