What is open, closed on Family Day
Making plans for the Family Day long weekend in Saskatoon? Here’s a list of what’s open, what’s not and what else to look for on the holiday Monday …
Parking will be free at pay stations, ■ but drivers need to park their vehicles within the area time limits.
City Hall will be closed. ■
All Saskatoon Public Library ■ branches will be closed.
Several leisure and civic centres ■ will offer Family Day hours (Harry Bailey and Lakewood: noon to 9 p.m.; Lawson: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saskatoon Field House: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Shaw Centre: 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.) All fitness classes and child minding are cancelled at the centres. Remai Modern Art Gallery of ■ Saskatchewan will be open Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with no entry fee as part of Rawlco Radio Free Admission Day.
The Saskatoon Civic Conservatory ■ will be closed.
Saskatoon Transit and Access ■ Transit will operate under holiday services.
Garbage and recycling pickup ■ with take place as regularly scheduled, while the Saskatoon landfill will be open regular hours (7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park ■ and Zoo will be open regular hours (10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the zoo; 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the park)
Several ice rinks are offering ■ Family Day hours (ACT Arena: Parent-and-tot skate cancelled, bonus skate from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Cosmo Arena: Free skate from 1:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m., public skate cancelled; Archibald, Kinsmen and Lions arenas: Regular hours of operation, but no public skating ). As well, the Cameco Meewasin Skating Rink, downtown beside the Bessborough Hotel, is open regular hours from noon to 9 p.m.
The city’s major shopping centres ■ will operate under holiday hours: Midtown Plaza (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.), The Mall at Lawson Heights (11 a.m. to 5 p.m., The Centre (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.), Confederation Mall (12 to 5 p.m.) and Market Mall (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Major banking institutions will ■ be closed.
