Sask. misses medals in Ringette nationals
Teams from Saskatchewan picked up fourth- and ninthplace finishes at the U16 SaveOn-Foods Canadian Ringette Championships in Winnipeg, and an 11th-place showing in the U19 division. National champions were Team Manitoba in the U16 division and U19 Team Quebec. The Regina Stingers lost 4-3 to the Nepean Ravens in the U16 bronze medal game. The Atlantic Attack were the National Ringette League champions after defeating Edmonton WAM! 5-3 in the gold medal final. Award winners were also announced. Keala Fleury of the Saskatoon Selects, who played as U16 Team Saskatchewan, claimed the title of U16 Toughest Competitor.
