Red Lion showcases attention to specifics in family-friendly Aspen Ridge show home

Red Lion Developments recently opened a show home in the new neighbourhood of Aspen Ridge in the city’s northeast. The show home boasts 1,815 square feet in a popular modified bi-level. As you walk in, you are immediately greeted by an entranceway with tiles that go up the wall.

Owner Chris Fomradas says, “We know it will get a lot of abuse — from shoes to purses to people leaning against it.” The tile will make the wall easier to clean and also eliminate unsightly dings and scraps on drywall.

The garage offers an abundance of space for vehicles and comes finished and painted. There’s a hookup for a TV and a central vacuum port for cleaning your vehicles. The garage is heated and already has speakers wired in.

A unique feature is the humidity fan to remove excess moisture from melting snow in the winter. The humidity fan has a sensor, so it’s easy to program it to engage when the humidity hits a certain point.

The bathrooms have a similar feature.

“People always say there’s too much moisture in the bathrooms and HRV weren’t really designed to be like the old bathroom fans. They just take out stale air and bring in fresh air,” explains Fomradas.

Red Lion outfits all its bathrooms with both HRV fans and bathroom fans. These bathroom fans vent directly outside and can be set — just like the garage fan — to automatically come on at a certain amount of humidity.

The main living area features an open concept with lots of space for a large dining table. High gloss kitchen cabinets create a modern looking kitchen with oversized kitchen island with eating area. A short window above the sink keeps the space from getting too dark and really shows off the glossy cabinetry.

The master suite is located above the garage — away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the house. Even a king-sized bed barely takes up any space in the massive owner’s bedroom. It’s truly a retreat for the homeowner.

In the owner’s bathroom, there’s a glass shower, tub, and a 10-foot vanity. As well, Red Lion likes to outfit bathrooms with very large mirrors. The generous dimensions will make getting ready in the morning a breeze.

Every floor of the home features nine-foot ceilings — including the basement. Because of the bi-level construction the basement enjoys tons of light from large windows for whatever the homeowner decides to develop.

Overall, it is the home’s attention to detail in a family-friendly format that will attract buyers. Fomradas is quick to point out that Red Lion takes that attention to detail and commitment to quality seriously whether it’s a custom build or a smaller project.

“We’re not looking to cut corners. Other guys might be looking for ways to cut corners, we’re looking for ways to build a better house,” he says. “Just going back to those bathroom fans, the garage fans, it’s just stuff that we know will make a house better.”

The Red Lion show home at 574 Bolstad Turn in Aspen Ridge is open for viewing every Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
