Estate gifts enhance patient care today and in the future
Donald and Patricia Taman have experienced life to its fullest during their 80-plus years. While there is a lot for them to reflect on, they also have an eye to the future. They are creating a lasting legacy that will benefit generations to come by including Royal University Hospital Foundation in their Wills.
From the birth of their youngest son in 1966 to more recent intensive medical interventions, Donald and Patricia are grateful for the care they have received each time at Royal University Hospital (RUH).
“Having been a patient at RUH on numerous occasions you have time to reflect on how fortunate we are to have this hospital with its wonderful physicians, nurses and other health professionals,” says Patricia. “Not only have we benefited from the care provided at RUH but also have other family members, numerous friends, neighbours and folks we know from across the province.”
The couple began expressing their gratitude back in 2002. In December 2015, they decided to make monthly donations to RUH Foundation. It was only natural that they include gift giving beyond their lifetimes.
“The hospital and those working there have helped us in the past and we want to make sure we are able to help them well into the future,” says Donald.
“The reason we donate is to show our gratitude and ensure the hospital remains always up to date and progressive in providing new medical treatment methods, using the most advanced medical equipment like the new O-arm imaging system and is in a position to recruit top medical professionals to RUH.”
Estate gifts have and will leave a lasting impact at RUH. No matter the amount, they will make a positive difference to the care patients receive today and in the future.
