Bus tragedy spreads beyond Humboldt

Much is being made of the grief and loss in Humboldt, and rightly so.

However, six of the 10 young players who died are from Alberta, as are two of the seriously injured. Of all the players only four came from Humboldt — even the staff were not all from Humboldt. The rest came from other towns in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba.

I sincerely hope that this will be remembered when all that GoFundMe money is handed out. The families of the injured players face immense financial difficulties. They deserve financial help, as much as Humboldt itself.
