Budenholzer off the market, joining Bucks

Mike Budenholzer, one of the top candidates for Toronto’s vacant head coaching job, will instead coach the Milwaukee Bucks on a forthcoming four-year deal, according to ESPN. Budenholzer reportedly agreed after having a meeting with Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo and teammate Khris Middleton. Budenholzer, who led the Atlanta Hawks to 60 wins and the conference final on the way to coach of the year honours in 2016, left the Hawks after a 24-58 record this season. The Raptors reportedly met with Budenholzer Monday, but did not make an offer. Assistant coach Nick Nurse is considered the front-runner to succeed Dwane Casey, though Jerry Stackhouse and Rex Kalamian will also get consideration, along with outside candidates.
