5 WEEKEND ACTIVITIES

-

June has arrived and the days are longer this month than any other in the year. So we need to get out and celebrate these long days. Here are some options for you to consider this weekend:

1 Family affair

Beginning Saturday and lasting through June 5, take your kids and head to the Nutrien Children’s Festival of Saskatchewan. Located in Kinsmen Park, the whole affair is aimed at putting a smile on your child’s face. On Saturday and Sunday, the event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

2 Laughter

Actor and funnyman Kevin Hart returns to Saskatoon on Saturday night for a one-night show at Sasktel Centre. If you feel like laughing, this guy is someone who can make that happen. Doors open at 6 p.m., the show starts an hour later.

3 Music

The Saskatoon Fiddle Orchestra presents its annual Saints and Sinners concert Saturday night at the Broadway Theatre. In its 14th year, the spring concert will have your toes a tappin’. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.

4 Fast horses

Live thoroughbred racing returns to Marquis Downs at Prairieland Park tonight and Saturday night as the season gets underway. The ground-pounding action is a lot of fun for all ages.

5 Fast cars

If a different style of racing is more your thing, the Wyant Group Raceway is the place to go Saturday night as the Sask Legends Season Opener is on tap. Gates open at 5 p.m. with racing to start at 6.
