REGINA Nearly two weeks after he went missing, the body of Claude Landry has been found.

According to information from the RCMP, the body of the 48-yearold man was recovered on Tuesday, in an open area southwest of Gravelbourg. RCMP said they would be searching the Moose Jaw city dump Thursday for more evidence in regards to the alleged murder. RCMP said the search was likely to take up most of the day.

An autopsy was conducted on Wednesday to determine a cause of death.

Two men have already been charged in connection with the death, said to have occurred on July 12.

Robert Arams, 74 from Gravelbourg, faces charges of first-degree murder and offering an indignity to a body. He returns to court on Aug. 7 in Moose Jaw.

David Earl Prentice, 42, from Lafleche, is accused of offering an indignity to a body. Prentice, who is not accused of killing Landry, appeared in Moose Jaw court on Wednesday. The Crown opposed his release, and the matter was set over to Monday in Moose Jaw for a bail hearing.

According to court documents, the indignity charge alleges the “dragging and burying ” of Landry’s body.

As of Wednesday morning, both men remained in custody. Arams was arrested on Saturday, and Prentice on Monday.

On Thursday, RCMP reported a third person had been charged in connection with the same investigation. Shauna Prentice, 41 from Lafleche, is accused of public mischief for allegedly providing a false sworn statement to investigators. She has not been charged with causing Landry’s death.

Landry’s common-law partner, Marie Moldovan, reported him missing on July 12. She said Landry left their Kincaid-area home with a couple she didn’t know, who said they believed they knew where Moldovan and Landry’s missing dog was.

Moldovan said she later talked to Landry on the phone, and was told he hadn’t found the dog and was on his way home. She said she didn’t see or hear from him again.

Police deemed Landry’s disappearance suspicious.

Moldovan described her spouse as a man who had struggled in his life, but went out of his way to help others.
