Hope’s Home respite program gets $150K boost from Mosaic Company

-

REGINA Hope’s Home has received a financial boost to help with the renovation and equipment needed in its respite program for kids with special needs.

The Mosaic Company announced Monday it is giving the home $150,000 over a three-year period.

“Having a well-deserved break from caring for a child with special needs, who may require 24-7 attention, can be out of reach for many parents,” Sarah Fedorchuk, a vice-president with Mosaic, said in a news release.

“Mosaic is proud to be working with the amazing staff at Hope’s Home to bring more respite options to those in Regina.”

The money will be used to help renovate the washroom in the existing respite space to include specialized equipment, as well as support the addition of a second space.

Hope’s Home said the renovations will help provide a more comfortable stay for the children, including providing an accessible shower room.

“Without this respite bed in Regina, these families could be without options for a break from the constant and intensive care their children need,” Hope’s Home CEO Jacqueline Tisher said in the release.

Hope’s Home provides necessary care for children with complex medical needs, their siblings as well as typically developing children from around the community.
