5 WAYS TO FILL YOUR WEEKEND

On this Thanksgiving long weekend, let’s get out and enjoy the sun while we can. Here are a few things to do over the coming days if you need an idea or two.

-

1 Get ready to cheer

Fans of the beautiful game will be excited to get out and support the local teams in the Canada Soccer Toyota 2018 Nationals. Teams from across the country are in the city and on the pitch, so you don’t have to go far to watch great soccer action. Games are being played at the Umea fields, right behind the Henk Ruys Soccer Centre on Primrose Drive.

2 Roll with the action

Talk about hot wheels. Riproaring, non-stop action is on tap tonight as the Nitro Circus: You Got This tour pulls into the city. Lots of action and fun, thanks to the creative mind of Travis Pastrana, will be the order of the night at Sasktel Centre. Things get underway at 7:30 p.m.

3 Thoughtful theatre

The creative minds at Live Five Independent Theatre present Every Brilliant Thing beginning with opening night tonight at The Refinery. The play, which runs through Oct. 16, takes a deeper look at mental health.

4 Kick up your kilt

The Saskatoon Highland Games take place Saturday. Where else can you watch men in kilts doing feats of strength? This free event takes place at the German Cultural Centre starting at 11 a.m.

5 Move with the music

Juno Award-winning Colin Linden plays Monday night at the Broadway Theatre. What better way to finish the long weekend than watching this Canadian guitar legend. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
