Police investigat­ing two armed robberies at ATMS

One man is believed to be responsibl­e for two armed robberies within nine hours at ATMS in Saskatoon earlier this month.

The first incident took place nov .3 around 1 p.m. at an ATM vestibule in the 100 block of First Avenue South, according to a news release from Saskatoon police. Police say a man, armed with a paring knife, waited until a 63-year-old woman was using the ATM before he threatened her with a knife and knocked her to the ground.

The man fled on foot with an undisclose­d amount of cash.

The second incident took place around 9:45 p.m. when the same man entered an ATM vestibule in the 2800 block of Eighth Street East, threatenin­g a 43-year-old woman with a machete before fleeing on foot with an undisclose­d amount of cash.

The man is described by police as approximat­ely 5-foot-10 with a slim build. In each of the incidents, he was wearing the same red and grey running shoes, a hoodie, black pants and black hat with a curved brim, and a purple paisley bandana over his face.

Neither of the women were physically injured, according to police.
