Saudi actions threaten freedom

-

In what world is it OK to murder and dismember a prominent dissident/immigrant who was living in one of the greatest countries in the world (or so it used to be): the USA. A Saudi expat making a new life with his fiancee — a contributing journalist for the Washington Post.

Our parents and grandparents made sacrifices and lived through not one, but two world wars. We don’t know what it’s like to fight for freedoms. Our children have no comprehension of war and genocide.

How can we turn a blind eye to such an atrocity?

I am horrified by what took place in Turkey. (President Vladimir) Putin in Russia can send out hit men to kill those who oppose him, poisoning them on English soil yet. Evil is evil, wherever it rears its ugly head.

Saudi Arabia’s hit men arrive in Turkey in their own Saudi planes (made in America, no doubt) to blatantly kill and dismember one of their own who spoke out against the King of Saudi Arabia and the “crown prince in waiting ” of that country. Just like that.

Maybe you don’t care, but I care so much it hurts.

Our children — yours and mine — have to grow up in this new landscape that’s being cultivated by evil and manipulative killers and genocide experts. Lest you think we are safe, think again; our freedoms, our democracies and our very sense of decency are now all at risk.

Thank God Saudi planes are no longer landing in Canada.
