Newest Queen’s Counsel designations announced
In recognition of their contributions to the legal profession and public service, 18 Saskatchewan lawyers will add Queen’s Counsel (Q.C.) to their designation. They are:
■ Leslie Geraldine Hull Belloc-pinder, a partner with the firm Hnatyshyn Gough and president of the Law Society of Saskatchewan
■ Daryl Barry Bode, a senior Crown prosecutor with the Ministry of Justice
■ Elwood Rand Burlingham, of Burlingham Cuelenaere
■ Nicholas Michael Cann, a partner with Mckercher LLP in Regina and currently president of the Saskatchewan branch of the Canadian Bar Association
■ Jennifer Da Silva Pereira, a partner at Robertson Stromberg LLP
■ Glen William Dowling, a partner with Robb Dowling Talbot in Regina
■ Sherry Lee Fitzsimmons, a partner with Mcdougall Gauley LLP in Saskatoon
■ David Griffith Gerecke, of Miller Thomson LLP in Saskatoon
■ Keith Denison Kilback, a partner with Kanuka Thuringer in Regina
■ Walter Jimmy Matkowski, a commissioner with the Automobile Injury Appeal Commission
■ Wade Edmund Mcbride, general counsel with the Public Prosecution Service of Canada
■ Michael James Morris, director of litigation with the Ministry of Justice Civil Law Branch
■ Michael Peter Morris, director of legal services at Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities
■ Dwight Gordon Newman, a professor and Canada Research Chair at the University of Saskatchewan College of Law
■ Ronalda Ann Nordal, of the Nordal Leblanc Law Office
■ Lyle Oswald Phillips, of the Chow Mcleod Firm in Moose Jaw
■Eleanor Kaye Sunchild, with Sunchild Law in North Battleford
■ Rachelle Maureen Verret Morphy, vice-president of corporate and regulatory affairs at Saskpower
Queen’s Counsel appointments are based on recommendations from a selection committee consisting of Saskatchewan’s minister of Justice and attorney general, the chief justice of the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan or the chief justice of the Court of Queen’s Bench and the past presidents of the Saskatchewan branch of the Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of Saskatchewan.
