5 WAYS TO FILL YOUR WEEKEND
Some ideas as the holidays wind down and the new year starts to pick up speed:
1 Rush order
Why not get out and support our Saskatchewan Rush on Saturday night at their home opener against San Diego? Everything gets started at 7:30 p.m. at Sasktel Centre. If you haven’t been to a game yet, perhaps this is a good new year’s resolution to consider.
2 Let there be lights
The BHP Enchanted Forest Holiday Light tour wraps up this weekend after another successful year of brightening the holiday spirits of many people. Friday night is the last evening for drive-thru traffic from 5:3010 p.m. Saturday night is the Saskatchewan Blue Cross Light Walk from 5:30-9 p.m. Then the lights go dark to close out another successful season.
3 Let the music play
The Bassment offers a great weekend of music with the Karpinka Brothers playing on Friday starting at 9 p.m. The Gerard Weber Group takes to the stage on Saturday at 8 p.m. to feature the music of Pat Metheny.
4 Game on
Huskie Athletics get back into action this weekend on campus. Both men’s and women’s basketball teams play the Lethbridge Pronghorns on Friday and Saturday nights at the PAC. The women tip off at 6 p.m. with the men following at 8 p.m.
5 Peek at the past
This is also the final weekend for the Eaton’s Once Upon A Christmas display at the Western Development Museum. As the Christmas season winds down for yet another year, this will give you one last look at what made it so special all those years ago.
