Promotion is integral to any business, so it’s key to make sure your brand has high-quality, good-looking swag to draw customers in — and MOTIF is ready to help you do just that.

Having worked previously at a custom apparel shop, it didn’t take MOTIF owner Joel Antymniuk long to fall in love with the work, and when the opportunity presented itself, he knew it was time to strike out and add his vision to the industry.

After starting the shop in a space at Ideas Inc., business was good, but Antymniuk knew that to continue expanding his business, produce more products and take on bigger clients, MOTIF had to make the move into its new, larger space on First Avenue.

“It almost feels like we are graduating from that place into a full office location downtown,” he said. “There is just way more space, more room to house product for people to stop by — but I think most importantly, enough room for the employees and the staff we are building up and provide them a good space for them to get their jobs done.”

Antymniuk said it’s these staff members that set MOTIF apart from other promotional apparel businesses in the city. The dedicated graphic designers on staff are ready to help customers create a custom design that will be worn with pride — rather than simply discarded.

He said it’s quite common for most promotional apparel businesses to simply take orders without trying to do anything more than slap a businesses logo onto the breast of a T-shirt.

And by offering a staggering amount of apparel, leisure gear, bags, drinkware, mobile technology and stationery available to brand and customize, the opportunities MOTIF offers customers are endless.

“The old model just isn’t cutting it anymore — people need more excitement,” Antymniuk said.

“Don’t spend $5 on a hat that ends up in the back of your closet; instead spend $15 or $20 for a really nice hat that’s just as nice as something you could buy in a retail store.”

If you’re looking to upgrade your kitchen or bathroom but aren’t sure where to start, it’s worth taking a look at Centennial Kitchen and Bath’s brand new showroom.

The long-running, highly trusted plumbing, heating and electrical company has created a new, interactive space to showcase its products and help create a space perfectly tailored to your needs.

“We still have our retail store, but it acts as our renovation showroom for people doing renovations to come pick what products they want,” co-owner Michael Shaw said. “The showroom is totally set up around being able to select things in the order you would as you’re doing your project.”

And not only can you pick out fixtures and fittings ranging from the basic necessities to top-end, luxurious products, Centennial also offers a free consultation with an interior designer to ensure everything you choose for your bathroom or kitchen renovation will look perfect in your home — at the right price.

Shaw noted the company also has journeymen plumbers who can answer any of your DIY questions.

“Everything in here is kitchen, tile or bathroom-related,” he explained.

“We used to be really known for the do-it-yourselfer coming in, and our own journeymen plumbers would be on the floor so you could ask how to fix something and they would teach you how. We still have that, but it’s just separated out from the design side of the store, and now you can find them at the parts counter in the back.”

He adds that Centennial would not be where it is today without these team members and the many others who provide customers with their expert opinions along with the option to have Centennial’s own certified contractors do the work for you — whether it’s installing a new kitchen or bathroom or simply fixing a plumbing, heating or electrical issue.

“It goes back to our roots,” Shaw said. “Our motto here is ‘Always done right,’ so we will never sacrifice quality even if it means losing some work ... Renovations, in general, are just frustrating beasts but whatever we can do to take some of the pain out of that we try our best to do.”
