It’s cold, stay warm inside

The weather has turned cold all of a sudden, but this is January, so we shouldn’t be too surprised. Let’s keep warm by keeping busy. Here are a few suggestion­s:

Film director and comedian Kevin Smith brings his take on the new world order to the Dakota Dunes Casino on Sunday. The man who made it big as Silent Bob is touring the province and Canada this month, and it promises to be a fun evening. It gets underway at 8 p.m.

Violinist Michael Swan is the featured performer Saturday night with the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra. The performanc­e begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Robert Hinitt Theatre at Aden Bowman Collegiate at the corner of Clarence Avenue and Taylor Street.

Monday Night, presented by Live Five and produced by Highway 55 Production­s. Monday Night takes us down memory lane to the night when the news of John Lennon’s death was filtering out. The production takes place at The Refinery through Sunday.

Provincial rivals the Regina Pats are in town tonight to battle our Saskatoon Blades at Sasktel Centre. Game time is 7 p.m. Get out and support the Blades as they inch toward playoffs. The Blades travel down the highway to battle the Pats Saturday night in Regina.

The U of S Huskies volleyball teams play the Manitoba Bisons tonight and Saturday night at the PAC. The women hit the floor at 6 p.m. and the men’s action follows at 8 p.m. Both teams are fighting for a playoff position.
