5 WAYS TO FILL YOUR WEEKEND

With a slight moderation in temperatur­es possible in the next few days, it might be a good idea to get outside and shake off that cabin fever. Here are some ideas on what to do in the city on Saturday and Sunday.

The Kona Winter Festival is scheduled for Saturday at Wanuskewin Heritage Park. Plenty of family-fun events are planned, including dogsled rides, snowshoein­g and voyageur games. It runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you’re looking for some high-energy music to enjoy, the Arkells are in town Friday night at Sasktel Centre. The Hamilton-based band is touring in support of its Rally Cry album release. The concert gets underway at 7:30 p.m.

Our Saskatchew­an Rush return home Saturday night for a game against the Calgary Roughnecks. The Rush, sporting a 3-3 win-loss record, are looking to get back to their winning ways. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra presents Tainted Love on Saturday night at TCU Place, featuring violinist Andrea Tyniec. The Saskatoon Youth Orchestra opens the evening with the SSO and Berlioz’s Carnival. The music starts at 7:30 p.m.

Maybe you’re looking for a little snowball fight? Yukigassen has been added to the Briarwood Family Fun Day on Sunday after it was cancelled last weekend due to poor weather conditions. Yukigassen is a team event with seven players a side and is a little dodge ball, a little capture the flag and a whole lot of fun. Head to Briarwood Park from
