RCMP seek kidnapping suspect who wanted ride
Police are searching for a 27-yearold man wanted in connection with a July kidnapping that started at a rural property south of Melville.
Alvin Lawrence Sunshine is facing charges of break-and-enter to commit kidnapping, using a firearm to commit kidnapping, using a firearm to commit robbery, disguise with intent, and three counts of theft. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
He’s described as being approximately 5-foot-8, 140 pounds, with a slender build, brown eyes and black hair.
The reported kidnapping happened on July 12 around 1:30 p.m., police said. A woman was home alone at a rural property south of Melville when a man with a gun allegedly entered the residence and demanded to be driven to Regina. The woman complied and took the man to Regina, where he demanded to be taken to a specific residence, then exited the car. No injuries were reported. The suspect was said to be wearing black pants and a black Regina Riot hoodie with the word “defence” in white on the front.
“There are a very limited number of these hoodies in existence,” police said at the time, asking anyone who has seen someone wearing that hoodie to call police.
