RANDALL, Lois Marie

July 7, 1932 - October 27, 2019

-

Lois passed away peacefully in the early morning of Sunday, October 27,

2019.

She was predeceased by her husband Vern, parents Charles and Ethel, in-laws Ray and Minnie; sister Gwyneth; brothers Ches and Ted; sisters-in-law Kay Anear and Shirley Moore; brother-in-law Bob Moore and nephew Dave.

She is survived by her daughter Debra Lueke; her son-in-law Terry; granddaughters Ali (Cory) and Cara; sisters-in-law Ruth Anear and Sharon Dick (Ron); and by nieces and nephews; Sheree, Patti, Kelly, Todd, David, James and Shannon.

Lois was born at the family home in Prince Albert on July 7, 1932. As a child, she enjoyed reading, drawing, painting and she loved to go to school. Lois contracted polio when she was 6 years old and spent many months in a body cast. Despite the polio, she excelled at long distance running and hurdles. She said she became a good runner and jumper because she had two older brothers who enjoyed chasing and teasing her.

Lois was a graduate of the Saskatoon City Hospital Nursing Class of 1954. She spent all of her nursing career at the same hospital where she worked in pediatrics, obstetrics and later as the Director of Nursing. Many could tell that nursing was truly Lois’ passion as she continued to care for others long after her retirement.

Both Lois and Vern took pride in their garden and fruit trees and grew enough produce to feed the entire neighbourhood. In their retirement, Lois and Vern travelled all over Canada, to Europe and to Las Vegas 17 times. They bowled, danced, skated and were avid anglers. Lois was a great cook and seamstress. Many of us have her beautiful watercolour paintings hanging in our homes.

The family would like to thank the staff at Cherished Hearts Personal Care Home for the outstanding care and love that they gave Lois for the last six months.

A celebration of Lois’ life will be held at Lee Funeral Home 3130 Dewdney

Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, December 6 at 2:00 p.m. In the spring of 2020, another celebration of Lois’ life will be held in Saskatoon. Details to follow at a later date.
