What will be open, what will be closed

With the holiday season in full swing, here is a list of places in Saskatoon closing or changing their hours for Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year’s:

■ City hall administra­tive offices and all branches of the Saskatoon Public Library will be closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1.

■ The Saskatoon Transit customer service centre is closed for walk-in customers on Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1, but phone lines will be available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 6 p.m.

■ Remai Modern will be closed at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24, all day Dec. 25, and open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. The Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo is also closed on Dec. 25, but will be open for the rest of the holiday season with normal hours (10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the zoo, and 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the park).

■ ACT Arena, Archibald Arena, Lions Arena, Cosmo Arena and Gordie Howe Kinsmen Arena are all closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1. The rinks are all open until 5 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.

■ Cosmo Civic Centre, Lakewood Civic Centre and Lawson Civic Centre, as well as Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre and Shaw Centre, are closed on Dec. 25. Each facility is open until 5 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31, and limited or holiday hours on Dec. 26 and Jan. 1. Fitness classes and babysittin­g are cancelled those days.

■ Garbage and recycling collection regularly scheduled for Dec. 25 has been moved to Dec. 28, and collection regularly scheduled for Jan. 1 has been moved to Jan. 4.

■ The landfill will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and open regular hours all other days.

■ Parking payment is not required at city pay stations on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Payment is required on Boxing Day.
