It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected death of Wayne Charles Heiser, taken from us much too early, but while enjoying a place that he loved. He passed away on January 18, 2020 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico at the young age of 68 and has been safely brought home. Wayne leaves behind his sister Irma Harder and brother Darwin (Darlene) Heiser, brother-in-law Harvey Laberge, sister-in-law Ann Heiser. He will also be greatly missed by daughter Cheryl (Darrell Hartwick) and son Jeff (Lindsay), and his much-loved grandchildren Bryce, Kate, Jonathan, Benjamin and Gregory, previous marriage partner Debra, and many nieces and nephews. Wayne was predeceased by his parents Frederick and Florence Heiser, sisters Bernice Kaul, Janet Thiessen, Alma Laberge, and brother Bill Heiser.

Wayne started his career as a trades electrician, and eventually worked his way through various roles and experience to supervisory and management positions at Labatt's and finally to a fulfilling career at Prairieland Park as Operations Manager and then Director of Facilities which took him to retirement. Wayne forged many of his friendships through good relationships with coworkers, a testament to his ease of getting along with people and desire to also make the workplace a fun place to be. He will be missed by many longtime friends from Labatt's and Prairieland. His primary passions included golf, getting together with close friends for poker nights, seeing his family, children and grandchildren and travel to what had become an annual destination of Puerto Vallarta, and a number of other trips with friends.

Cheryl and Jeff wish to express their thanks for the immediate outpouring of support, and for that which will be required in the coming months. A Celebration of Life will take place in the Spring likely in April or May, when Wayne would have been getting impatient to get on the golf course after a long winter in! Details will be made available when they are known, or you can contact cherylhartwick@gmail.com. If you wish to, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
