July 12, 1947 - April 16, 2020

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Mother Carol Diane Meagher. She was surrounded by her family as she passed away on April 16th, 2020 after courageously battling cancer. Our deepest appreciation is extended to her niece Rhonda Bertoia for not hesitating to come help us help mom at a moments notice, there are no words that could ever express how grateful we are. Mom is survived by her mother Thelma Mantieffel, her sister Gwen Williams, and her children Nicole Allan (Colin), Curtis Meagher (Angeline), and Kim Unger (Jerel) and her most precious grandbabies, Kristen Meagher (Jesse), Kade Unger, Megan Allan, Liam Allan, Nixon Unger, And Bowen Unger. She was predeceased by her father Gerald Fairley, and her brothers Ron and Dwight Fairley.

Born in 1947 in Baldwinton, Mom grew up on the farm where she learned many skills that she deemed important to instill in her children. Her love of the outdoors yielded many beautiful landscapes and a ton of fresh garden goodies, and although we loved to spend time with her doing this we all knew we would never meet her flawless expectation of a perfect diagonal lawn cutting or a pristine weed free yard. This theme carried on throughout our lives where she would just rather "do it herself so the job was done right". You'd be surprised to find out how well this worked if you were to see Curtis' perfectly manicured yard and garden, or tasted Nicole's baking, or saw how clean Kim's dishes are before she loads them into the dishwasher. Aside from the endless hours spent raising children and maintaining our family home mom still managed to spend countless hours creating beautiful needlework art pieces. She also worked outside of the home engraving alongside her dear friends Patty and Marg at Trident Specialties and then later at Captains Den. How do you sum up a life as full as mom's in just a few lines... she loved to drive fast and flirt her way out of the tickets, she loved to roughhouse with her grand babies and make them giggle, she loved to play cards and was happy to beat whomever was brave enough for the challenge, she loved her friends dearly, she loved word games and never used google to cheat, she loved dancing, she loved reading and learning, she loved music, she loved hot holidays, she loved late night action packed movies, and Cheezies, and licorice, and Oreo cookies, but most of all she loved us and we sure knew it! Her big personality and grit for life endeared her to many, life will certainly not be the same without her. Always loved, never forgotten, forever missed!
