KOLBECK, Grant Frederick

Grant Kolbeck passed away peacefully with family by his side on May 1, 2020 at Kelowna Hospice House, Kelowna, BC at the age of 57. Grant was born on December 18, 1962 to Alphonse and Aurelia Kolbeck in Humboldt SK. He grew up in Lake Lenore, SK and went to school there. Grant helped work the family farm with his Dad just outside St James, SK., area until the passing of his parents in 1986. He met his wife Linda Langhorst in December 1984, they were married on July 12, 1986 and raised two sons and one daughter. Grant was a hardworkin­g man, throughout his career worked most of his life in the Oil and Gas Industry in Alberta. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfathe­r, brother, uncle, and friend, who loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed travelling, working on his art projects and looking at the beautiful view of Lake Okanagan were some of his favorite past time. With his high level of wisdom and understand­ing of his own spirituali­ty, he was able to guide others on their own spiritual journey and enrich other people’s lives. Grant will be lovingly remembered by his wife Linda (Langhorst), his two sons Greg Kolbeck, Michael (Heather) Kolbeck, their two daughters Sara and Anna; his daughter Kari Kolbeck (Mark Cuthbertso­n). His sisters Marijane (Don) Schuler; Arlene (Dennis) Smidt; his brother Andrew (Debra) Kolbeck as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Grant was predecease­d by his parents Alphonse and Aurelia Kolbeck, sister Diane and brother-in-law John Macdonald. A celebratio­n of life will be held in Alberta later with family and close friends when the COVID-19 restrictio­ns are lifted. Cremation entrusted to Everden Rust Funeral Services, Kelowna, BC.
