Lamborghini partners with boat builder
Lamborghini is partnering with the Italian Sea Group to build a unique powerboat dubbed “Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63.”
Italian Sea Group boatbuilder subsidiary Tecnomar worked closely with Lamborghini’s Centro Stile to make sure the seagoing iteration of the Italian brand’s road cars was worthy of the raging-bull badge.
The boat takes inspiration from the Sian FKP 37, and features a tonne of design cues from the Us$2-million hypercar. The Y-shaped LED lights and hexagonal glass make it distinctly Lamborghini, as do the floating rear tail lights and faux diffuser. The interior is equally Lambo-like, with bolstered captain’s chairs, digital gauges and a three-spoke steering wheel.
The start/stop buttons (of which there are two, one for each engine) are taken directly from the Lamborghini parts bin. Pushing them starts two enormous Man-built
V-12s, which produce 2,000 horsepower each, allowing the boat to reach 60 knots, or 111 km/h.
The boat is 63 feet long and weighs 53,000 pounds, and while that may sound heavy, the boat still fits into the ultralightweight category, thanks to extensive use of carbon fibre.
Only 63 units will be built to commemorate Lamborghini’s founding year of 1963. The first one will be available in 2021, priced at US$3 million. And that’s before you factor in any of the available options, which include everything from the interior layout, to the deck, to the colour of the hull. Driving.ca
