Woman with COVID fined for having guest in home

The Regina Police Service said it has ticketed a woman under for a breach of public health orders after she was diagnosed with COVID -19 but had a guest in her home.

Police were originally called to a residence on the 800 block of Elphinston­e Street on Jan. 14 for a report of a woman who had tested positive but was believed to have a guest or guests.

According to the RPS, officers attended, taking necessary health and safety protocols, and confirmed the health status of the resident and the isolation order she was under.

Another woman was in the house and was asked to leave. The woman who was diagnosed was subsequent­ly given a ticket on Jan. 20.

This is the 11th ticket issued by Regina police under the Saskatchew­an Public Health Act for breaching COVID-19 health orders.
