Our highly scientific ranking of things that do and do not deserve your attention
1. WONDER WOMAN
This month the Amazonian finally makes her big screen debut, prompting the question: what took her so long? The only logical answer, besides pretty blatant sexism: Gal Gadot wasn’t ready. She is now, and so are we.
2. DM SLIDING
Tinder got you down? Bumble making you grumble? Luckily Instagram is taking over where dating apps failed. The new way to meet people: awkwardly direct message them, unsolicited. What could go wrong?
3. THE SANDLERIZATION
Ever since Adam Sandler started making movies exclusively for Netflix, it seems like all the biggest stars of the ’90s are heading there, too. This summer’s victim is Will Smith, whose movie Bright will be streamed and not screened. What? Bruce Willis was busy?
4. SLIDES
If nothing else, the footwear of the summer — half the shoe for all of the price — should inspire men to finally make sure their feet are presentable. Just because we can see your toes doesn’t mean we should be able to smell them.
5. THE INCONVENIENT SEQUEL
Apparently this movie is Al Gore’s second attempt to raise awareness of environmental issues after his first film totally failed to end global climate change forever. It is not the subtitle for the next Pirates of
the Caribbean movie.
