Promising signs: the poster features Jennifer Lawrence holding her own bloody heart, and Javier Bardem co-stars as the other half of a couple visited by uninvited guests Michelle Pfeiffer and Ed Harris.

Kingsman 2: The Golden Circle

It could have been yet another action movie based on a comic book, but the first Kingsman film stood out thanks to its oddly dark humour. Alongside returning stars Colin Firth and Taron Egerton, the sequel adds (brace yourself ) Halle Berry, Jeff Bridges, Elton John, Channing Tatum, and Julianne Moore.

Battle of the Sexes

Emma Stone and Steve Carrell revisit the heated 1973 faceoff between two rival tennis players: feminist Billie Jean King and proud chauvinist Bobby Riggs. Sarah Silverman adds to the media blitz surrounding the match as Gladys Heldman, founder of World Tennis magazine (long live print!).

Brad’s Status

A Ben Stiller male-bonding drama we’re actually excited about. No, really. This one’s written and directed by Mike White, the man who brought us School of Rock and two of our favourite episodes of Freaks and Geeks, and the trailer is actually, honestly, kind of funny.
