Groundbreaking for Poirier Blvd Extension

-

Magog industrial park is well underway and we intend to continue efforts to attract new businesses," O'hara said, adding that "not only do we need more land, but we want to be flexible in terms of possible developments and ready to meet the needs of every industry that wants to set up operations here. In addition, new sites offer the advantage of being visible from the highway, which is a major advantage for certain sectors.”

Hamm stated that "if we include the $2 million injected by the City for the extension of Poirier Blvd and Bisaillon St, $12 million has been invested in the industrial park since November 2016. These investments have enabled the consolidation of 150 jobs and the creation of some thirty new ones on our territory. All this activity demonstrates the economic recovery that Magog is experiencing and, above all, the diversification of its economy, considering the development of the ICT district and the imminent revitalization of the city center. It is a long-term process, but the results are positive. Some 50 technology companies have recently been established. In addition, there is a marked increase in interest and demand for industrial premises or land.”

This new step confirms the City’s desire to pursue the implementation of various measures and to invest time and money in economic development to ensure healthy growth.
