Socan-licensed professional creators in which Sherbrooke did not even rank in the top 15.

The results of this year's compilation show that more new music creators live in Montreal's Rosemont neighborhood than in any other neighborhood in Quebec. It is described as a place in the eastcentral Montreal area that is full of musical and business talents, a press release said.

"Not surprisingly, neighborhoods with flourishing arts communities, theaters and other elements of Canada's musical ecosystem are also the fastest growing," said SOCAN CEO Eric Baptiste.

"It's hard to say if it's the neighborhood that attracts creators and music publishers or if they're the ones who built the neighborhood, but one thing is certain, there's a symbiotic relationship there. Music undoubtedly plays a key role in the fact that these communities are so dynamic and cool."
