My home now has its own fairy gateway — a 12-inch door in the wall which opens to a furnished two storey home, complete with a front step and a wooden ladder leading up from the floor.

So if the fairies at Brome Lake Books are removing their furniture and leaving tiny travel bags and packing boxes everywhere, it just could be they’re moving over to my house. How’s that for a fairy tale?

Knowlton brunch, which was held Sunday, April 30 at the Auberge West Brome. Thanks to the generosity of our partners and sponsors, as well as the 300 attendees, this event raised a final amount of $14,500. The funds will help support an important BMP Hospital Recruiting and Training Program for graduating nursing students.

The 29th BMP brunch celebrated the outstandin­g contributi­on of the BMP Hospital Auxiliary. For more than 100 years, these volunteers have made our hospital a more warmhearte­d and welcoming place for both patients and their families. Their assistance to the vitality of the hospital is undeniable.

The event also marked the first presentati­on of the George Bristol Award for Volunteeri­ng Excellence aimed to recognize the longstandi­ng and exceptiona­l
