the appearance and functionality of Knowlton, the same can be said for each of the other six sectors. Now, the mayor and council are proposing using $500,000 of the surplus to revitalize Knowlton. My concern, the sector of Fulford used to have some functioning playground equipment, much of which had been produced and provided by the Fulford residents. However, at the beginning of last summer, someone from the town removed all of that equipment.
At last year’s annual Fulford strawberry social, the mayor, as well as some of the councillors were told that having no playground has caused many of the residents to be very unhappy, not only for that to have happened, but also for the fact that Fulford was having to make do with not having any playground equipment.
It has now been over a year and again this year’s annual strawberry social is fast approaching, still the equipment has not been replaced.
There is no doubt the politicians will have a handful of excuses.
I would dare to say that unless those same politicians start recognizing that they have to start spreading some of their attention and taxpayers dollars to the other areas and not just Knowlton, they may very well find themselves with six hamlets of taxpayers (majority of taxpayers) being very unhappy with the disproportionate way their money has been spent.
