Bike collection this Saturday

the corner of Bowen South and Galt streets in Sherbrooke. Several volunteers will be in the parking lot before school to collect donated bikes, good weather or bad.

Bicycles picked up in the campaign are put back in order by a team of about fifteen volunteers and given to young people from disadvantaged areas of Sherbrooke each spring.

The Récupère-don ton vélo project marked its 17th edition a few weeks ago and is well integrated into the community. It was the recipient of the Accessibility of Healthy Lifestyles Gala award in 2015, and in April of last year, volunteer officer, Jean-denis Beauchemin, was awarded a Silver Medal by the Lieutenant-governor of Quebec for his social commitment.

"Récupère-don ton vélo." relies on the public for this annual collection to keep its bank of bikes replenished.
