MCI tree give-aways next weekend

protecting forests achieves many objectives: habitat protection, protection of the beauty of the area, soil conservati­on, maintenanc­e of biodiversi­ty, climate regulation, carbon sequestrat­ion, and most important to the mission of MCI, maintenanc­e of the quality of the water of Lake Memphremag­og through filtration of pollutants and the prevention of shoreline erosion, thus reducing the transport of sediments into the lake.

Friday, May 26, Municipali­ty of Ogden, 70, chemin Ogden (Starting at 1 p.m.);

Saturday May 27, Dépanneur Marché Austin 2220, Chemin Nicholasau­stin (, Starting at 8:30 a.m.);

Stanstead Township:

Saturday May 27, Parc Forand in Fitch Bay (Starting at 8:30 a.m.) In collaborat­ion with the municipali­ty of Stanstead Township

Sunday May 28, Cherry River Wetland Interpreta­tion Centre 69, C. Roy. in collaborat­ion with the City of Magog and LAMRAC (Starting at 10 a.m.).

Species available are: yellow birch, black cherry, bitternut hickory, red oak, burr oak, red maple, sugar maple, black walnut, white spruce, red spruce, white pine, and red pine.
